Xmas was not so bad this year :)

Xmas 2004 was better than I anticipated.

As far as recent Christmas go this year was not a bad one. There were several Chris (my inner child) type films on the TV including Harry potter that went down well. In recent years I have not bothered with Chrismass decorations, but Chris decided he wanted to make some of those paper chains he liked to do as a child, so this year there are paper chains hanging in the living room... and I must say that they do brighten the place up as well :)

It was also there first year in many that I have actually had a Chrismas dinner... It was sausage and chips last year *sigh*

Another change was the amount of beer that I had to drink. Usually it would be over 6 pints on the evening, but this year it has only been two pints.

Those dreaded Christmas blues

Well it's getting around to that time of year again when Christmas is on the way.

Christmas is suppose to be a time for joy and hope, but for many abuse survivors like myself it seldom works out that way. So many times when young left alone, or worse still being left with those who had abused us.

While all the big TV soaps show people gathering together there are many of us to whom even the thought of seeing family members fills us with feelings of doom and gloom.

This year, like most of recent years, I will be having a star trek day, watching all my films back to back. Chris (my Inner Child) has already started to stock up on his fave choc bars and has a few cartoon films he wants to watch with me.

Yet although I will be physically alone, I will also be able to share the day with my chosen family of friends in the survivor support forums that I often use.

To those that enjoy the holidays have a good one.

For those that find the time of year hard to deal with, why not join us in the forums.
